The purpose of this study was to investigate correlation between the Physique and the balance levels according to position of the professional basketball players in korea. Twenty five male professional basketball players who had past histories of sports injuries or pains were classified into four groups according to the positions and involved in this tests. They performed physical fitness tests including Physique, reaction time tests, balance tests. The measured data were analyzed by SPSS/10.0 WIN and one-way ANOVA. The result of this study were as follows: 1. There were no significant differences between the four positions in lower leg length, upper leg length, reaction time(p <.05). However there were significant differences between center group and guard group in lower extremity length. 2. There were no differences between the four positions in balance test composed of balance score, forward, backward, left, right movements(p <.05). 3. There were significant differences between the lower leg length(r=-.452), upper leg length(r=.511), body response(r=-.452) as influencing factors to balance test. In conclusion some physical characteristics including lower leg length, upper leg length, reaction time seem to be useful measures of the balance in male professional basketball players.
